Indigenous and community-governed territories store up to 36% more carbon per hectare than most conservation areas. Yet many remain informal, or exposed to development and extraction pressure. Formalizing indigenous ownership of these lands is critical to protecting over 200 million hectares of carbon-rich ecosystems. Through our community partnerships, we aim to support transparent land governance, and the conservation of these critical carbon sinks.
